How to create a grocery list for weight loss

The best way to create a grocery list for weight loss is by focusing on healthy foods.

Keep processed, sugary, or fatty foods off of your list and stick to more produce and protein.

The first and most important items on your list should be fruits and vegetables.

These two produce sections should make up most of your list because they are high in nutrients and low in carbohydrates and fats.

The next items on your grocery list need to be protein.

This can be meat, fish and eggs, along with tofu, nuts, seeds, lentils, and legumes (beans). Lean protein is best. This includes most fish, chicken, lean ground beef or turkey, tofu, and eggs.

You should also buy grains, but make sure they are whole grains like oats, whole grain bread, and quinoa.

Starchy vegetables like potatoes, sweet potateos, corn and pupmkin along with beans can provide a great alternative to grains that are also filling!

Finally, you want to include some dairy products.

Greek yogurt is your best option since it is high in protein and lower on sugar than other yogurts.

You can also buy low-fat cottage cheese and other reduced-fat cheeses and skim milk.

You could even substitute your milk with a vegan option such as soymilk, oat milk, or almond milk.

As for snacks, stick to foods like nuts, berries, seeds, olives, or beef jerky. Dark chocolate can also be surprisingly healthy and a good alternative to a sugary snack.

Healthy fats, such as avocadoes and nut butters or using coconut  or olive oil when cooking are also great options. The most important thing about keeping your grocery list healthy is by keeping processed foods to a bare minimum.

Stick to whole natural snacks like fruit or nuts instead of cookies, chips, or other high sugar, high fat processed foods. A final important note is to always stick to water as soda and even fruit juice is high in sugar.
