Wondering how to get started working from home?
It might sound too good to be true, but it is possible to work from home even if…
- You don’t have a fancy college degree
- No experience
- Don’t have $1,000 to invest in a business
Working from home has made me earn a full-time income from home as a blogger.
I took the leap in 2018 as a stay-at-home mom, with two kids under 3. After brainstorming ideas and scouring the internet for answers – I zeroed in on blogging.
The first 6 months were a little slow, but once I got to understand the business, I saw my income increase.
I have since made a consistent $4,000 and over each month. Blogging is just one way of doing it.
While I was on the lookout for online careers for myself, I ended up learning a lot about working from home. The types of legit online jobs available, the income potential, and companies that hire remote workers.
This lead me to become a career blogger and share information on my site about the different job options available.
I have also come across some really helpful online training programs to help you choose the best career. Online courses are great as they give you the flexibility to study at your own pace, in the comfort of your home.
Most online career courses are no less than $400, which is still a fair price considering how expensive college fees can be.
From my research and interviews, I can tell you that these work-at-home courses, have the potential to help you build a successful online business.

How to start a work from home business
The Work-at-Home school is owned by Caitlin Pyle who is also the creator of Proofread Anywhere.
Proofread Anywhere is an online school where you learn how to become a proofreader from home – a side hustle that pays an average $37,000 a year. If you have good grammatical skills, this is potentially the best career option for you.

Caitlin’s journey, in a nutshell, is moving from a traditional 9-5 job to working as an online proofreader. She then started her own proofreading school where she has trained over 4,000 students to become a proofreader.
Her latest initiative is the Work-at-Home school that gives you a broader range of careers to choose from.

What skill do you need?
When I started my career as a blogger, I didn’t have any major tech skills or graphic designing skills. I loved to write and that’s all I needed to motivate myself to move forward.
In fact, in this day and age, I am embarrassed to say that I am not a big social media person. I hardly get on Facebook and still don’t have an active twitter account!
But this hasn’t stopped me from reaching my goals.
Similarly, the courses included in the Work-at-Home school do not require fancy skills. If you can write and sent emails, have good internet access with a reliable computer, and, a willingness to learn – you are halfway there!
