HOW TO HAVE A GLOW UP WITH THIS GLOW UP CHALLENGE
1. Drink More Water
Water is so good for our body. It hydrates you, makes your skin beautiful and it can even help you lose weight.
Up your water intake and if you absolutely can’t stand the taste of water, make it more drinkable by adding chopped fruit (like berries) or veggies (like cucumber) into your water for some extra flavour.
Exercise will help get you moving, it makes you feel good and can aid in better sleep.
Get moving, even if it means taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing 10 minutes of situps and pushups 3X a day, or taking an evening walk after dinner. Aim for a 30 minute routine to fitness.
3. Eat More Fruits and Veggies
Fruits and vegetables are nature’s goodness. If you eat more fruits and veggies, it will up the amount of vitamins and nutrients you get in the day, keeps you full and improves your body all around, like skin, nails, and hair.
4. Take a Bath
Baths are great for relaxation and they can detoxify you if you add Epsom salts to your bathwater. Not to mention, it’s great for unwinding and finally taking a breath at the end of a long, busy day.
5. Oil Massage
A warm oil massage not only helps in blood circulation, but also assists in stimulating hair growth.
Try and massage your hair and body once a week with natural oils like coconut oil or avocado oil. Leave the oils on the skin or hair or both for about 30 mins before your shower. By doing this, you will notice your hair shinier and your skin feels moisturised.
How many times do you shower or bathe without moisturizing afterwards? Too many of us skip this essential step.
This is super important after bathing or taking a shower. Lock moisture into your skin by applying a thick, luxurious cream or lotion to your skin everywhere (including elbows and the backs of calves).
7. Wash Your Face
And no, washing your face in the shower doesn’t count.
Really wash your face. Invest in a good quality face wash that works for your skin and wash your face of oil and debris often and watch your skin look radiant and clean.
8. God First
Always put God first in everything you do. Just knowing that there is someone that looks out for us is an amazing feeling. Inner peace definitely makes a person look beautiful inside and out!
I love this verse from the bible:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body
And this verse;
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?
If you are looking for some positivity and motivation, these are my two favourite bible verses.
9. Plan your outfits
Sometimes getting into the habit of planning your clothes a week in advance not only helps you stay organized but also stops you from repeating the same outfits.
10. Get a Trim and Dye Hair
Cut your hair. Don’t worry, you only have to do a trim.
Get those split ends, even if you have to trim it yourself and your hair will look thicker and healthier instantly. If you want to experiment with your look, go ahead and get that hair cut.
11. Clean Scalp
If you are some that has a flaky scalp, the anti-dandruff ginger shampoo by Body Shop is a must try! I have found it works well in 3 washes. I do believe you will need to try this out yourself and see if you notice a visible change as it can work different for everyone. But from my personal experience, it seems to work really well and treats dandruff like a miracle.
While I have the 400ml bottle, I believe you also get them in a 6oml bottle which is a good way to test it out.
12. Shape eyebrows
Give your eyebrows the maintenance it needs by either plucking or trimming your eyebrows at home. When you tidy up your eyebrows your eyes look refreshed and they stand out better.
13. Dry brush body
While most of us are used to exfoliating our face, never forget the rest of our body needs the same attention. Dry brushing helps in removing dry and dead skin and help in circulation. Aim for twice a week.
14. Yoghurt Hair Mask
If you are someone with dry and dull hair, the best way to breath life into it is by adding some natural fat. I have tried using both a yogurt and an avocado hair mask to add moisture and shine to my hair.
Just apply any plain high fat yogurt on your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour before you rinse off in the shower. Same with an avocado mask. Use either half or the full avocado, depending on the length of your hair.
15. Go to Bed an Hour Earlier
Get more sleep. This does wonders for your body and mood. You will notice that you’ll feel better and refreshed the following morning. Give it a try!
16. Get Some Sun
Aim for 10 to 20 minutes of sunshine daily.
You get vitamin D and it helps improve your mood. For those trapped indoors all day in an office setting or stuck at home, walk out your front door and bask in the sunshine for a few minutes.
17. Reduce Sugar Intake
This will improve the health of your teeth, it can result in more glowy, radiant skin and even aid in dropping a few pounds. Sodas contain a lot of sugar, so cutting this out of your diet can help eliminate unwanted sugar consumptions.
18. Reduce Caffeine Intake
You will feel less jittery and start to feel the energy you get from other foods. Be mindful of caffeine content in coffee (of course), tea, and chocolate.
You can do this first thing in the morning, for as little as 10 to 15 minutes. Meditation helps you relax and reduce stress.
20. Read a Real Book
This will give your eyes a break from screens (cell phones, TV, etc.) and can produce a calm, relaxing feeling as you take in a good book.
21. Turn off Electronics an Hour Before Bed
That means no TV watching, no browsing your cell phone or tablet either. This is a great time to read your book, then fall asleep.
22. Try to Reduce Your Stress
Do the same 2-3 things every week stress you out?
Try to find ways to reduce stress overall by meditation and other practices that are effective for limiting your stress.
23. Positive Affirmations
Say positive things aloud. It makes you feel better. Try putting sticky notes on your bathroom mirror and read positive affirmations aloud every morning for a nice start to your day.
24. Play With Your Pet
If you have a pet at home, spend some time playing with them.
One of my favourite times of the day is in the evening when my cat comes to bed to snuggle with me. I get to pet her soft fur and it’s super relaxing for me.
25. Take Toxic People Away from You
Remove toxic people from your life. Are there people that stress you out or make you feel bad? Remove them from your life or take a break from them during the week.
26. Become a Kid Again
Do something fun. Enjoy being a kid again and indulge in an ice cream cone, go to the skating rink or do something else that you enjoy.
27. Do Something Good For Yourself
Find something that you truly love doing and do it! Whether it be baking, deep cleaning your bedroom (yes, some of us love cleaning) or something else.
28. Give Compliments
Compliment yourself or someone around you. Say something nice. It’ll make them (and you) feel good.
29. Make a difference
Make an impact in someone’s life. Give to charity. Volunteer. Do something good.
30. Practice Positivity
Try to keep your mood positive and see the brighter side of things.
31. Talk to Loved Ones
Stay in touch with the ones you love in your life, even if it means texting good morning throughout the week.
32. Take a Break
It’s not all about work. Take some time for yourself often.

Here are my top 5 favourite ways to glow up fast
How to glow up in a week?
1. Remove unwanted hair on your body. I’ve tried various DIY threading techniques, but have always failed. My favourite tool is the Epiwand, which I bought from Amazon. Its an easy tool to remove facial hair.
2. Colour your hair to cover any unwanted greys or to just brighten up your look.
3. Don’t worry if you don’t have a fancy hair mask. Just massage your hair with warm coconut oil just an hour before you shower. This gives your hair a nice shine and adds moisture to dry hair.
4. For the face, its important to remove any dead cells to smoothen out the skin. For this a homemade coffee scrub works great. Add equal amounts of fresh ground coffee, brown sugar and coconut oil. I just add a teaspoon of each, and mix them together as a face scrub.
5. I used the same scrub for the body, by increasing the quantity to two tablespoons each. This give a great summer glow to your skin.
Taking care of your face, body and hair will give you an almost instant glow up you need.
